In this way, AECA presents a transparent and audited cost index that provides a framework for action that allows companies to work professionally and sustainably, with excellent services. This issue becomes more relevant in a context of systematic cost increases as a result of macroeconomic imbalances, and has become a fundamental tool for consumers.

The IMC sets the reference costs and measures 16 items among which three groups stand out: labor, transportation and other expenses, which include: packaging, patents, insurance, rentals and inputs, among others. In the case of the postal service, labor reaches 65%, transport cost 23% and other expenses, 12%. And regarding the last mile, the cost structure is made up of 47% labor, 41% transportation, and 12% other expenses.
“The exponential growth of e-commerce impacted the logistics structure of all operators. In this sense, having a cost index for each specialty allows us to provide transparency for consumers and formality to the sector, and at the same time avoid dumping practices that do so much damage”assured the president of AECA, Carlos Cirimelo.
It should be noted that postal companies follow the new online sales business models and provide services in line with the new consumption habits of users.
