The head of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), Carlos Castagnetoexplained this Monday afternoon the measures announced by the Minister of Economy Sergio Massa regarding tax benefits for monotributistas, retired and employees and said that they will represent a total investment of $729,000 million, a figure equivalent to 0.5% of GDP.

In addition, he assured that the economic measures represent “a great effort by the State, which includes all sectors” and that it is intended so that “this devaluation that we suffer through a request from the Monetary Fund is not reflected in their pockets.”

Tax relief for monotributistas

The Minister of Economy and candidate of the Union for the Homeland (UxP) Sergio Massa announced on Sunday a tax relief for monotributistas of categories A, B, C and D, which are the most vulnerable.

In this sense, Castagneto specified: “The Category A will not pay the tax amount of $496, B $957, C $1,636 and D $2,689″. “The beneficiaries are 1,829,544,” he added.

In turn, it changed the productive monotribute and the cost of the monthly fee was lowered from 5% of the billing to 1% for 36 months. The measure seeks to “include more independent workers within the formal economy,” he said.

“Currently there are 188,346 monotributistas and this measure aims to formalize more than 1 million workers. This will be implemented through a decree of the Executive Power,” said Castagneto.

VAT refund for retirees

Another of the measures related to AFIP has to do with the VAT refund for the consumption of retirees and pensioners, who receive up to 3 minimum pensions, with debit card.

“Today the return has a maximum limit of $4,056, the new limit will be $18,000, this generates an improvement of up to 15% of the minimum amount,” Castagneto reported.

Reduction of employer contributions for micro and small businesses

Due to the announcement of the lump sum on parity account, reductions in employer contributions were also announced to 350,317 micro and small businesses.

“This cost means that 100% of the contributions go to 302,044 micro-businesses that employ 1,263,638 workers, and 50% to 48,273 small businesses that employ 1,186,921 workers,” the official stressed.

And he explained: “It is implemented by means of a modification of the form 931which we are already working on through the sub-directorate general of systems of the AFIPwhich is implemented every month since it is being developed and gives it the opportunity that expires on the 11th or 12th of September to be taken from the month of August, which is charged in September and October”.
