The Government will forgive the quotas of the monotributistas of the lowest categories

The Government will forgive the amounts of the tax component to the pure monotributistas of the four lowest categories which, as Sergio Massa announced on Sunday, will stop paying for the next few months. The measure will be included in the 2024 Budget, anticipated the head of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), Carlos Castagneto.

“As far as we are concerned, monotributistas of category A ($486 per month), B ($957), C ($1,636) and D ($2,689) will not pay the tax component for six months,” Castagneto said.

As detailed, the benefited subjects are 1,829,544 and the deferral will be by a general resolution of the AFIP.

“We do not have the power to forgive tax debts, that is why we are going to include it in the 2024 Budget so that they do not have to pay later,” the official explained in a chat with journalists.

The tax collector estimated that the new fiscal cost which implies the package of measures announced by Sergio Massa will be $729,000 million, equivalent to 0.5% of GDP.

As for the Productive monotribute explained that it will reduce the cost of the monthly contribution of the workers who are framed in that scheme of the 5% of billing to 1% of billing for 36 months. At present they are 188,346 monotributistas and this measure aims to formalize more than 1 million workers. This will be implemented through a decree of the Executive Power.

Announcement for retirees and pensioners

Beyond the advances that Sergio Massa made on Sunday regarding the payment of a bonus of $37,000 for three months for retirees of the minimum, an increase in the VAT refund amount is included for purchases with cards. Castagneto specified that for those who have assets of up to 3 minimums, the ceiling for the refund will go from the current $4,056 to $18,000.

Reduction of employer contributions

The head of the AFIP also indicated that employer contributions for 350,317 micro and small businesses will be reduced. There will be a 100% reduction in contributions for 302,044 micro-businesses that employ 1,263,638 workers, and 50% for 48,273 small businesses that employ 1,186,921 workers.

The modification will be made through a change on Form 931 and is to offset the lump sum payment of $60,000. The idea is that the change is already in the AFIP applications for the expiration of September 11 and 12. Thus, employees will be able to collect in September and October.

Control for basic basket products

On the other hand, Castagneto anticipated that in the coming days the AFIP will launch a new traceability control system for items in the family basketr, to monitor the new Fair Prices agreement that is part of the battery of announcements.

The head of the AFIP insisted that the devaluation of just over 21% on August 14, post-PASO, was imposed by the IMF, and that the measures announced on Sunday are aimed at “Keep it from sitting in pockets.”

The official considered that with the measures and with Sergio Massa’s decision to keep the price of the dollar stable until October, “inflation should drop” in the coming months.
