He ENACOM through the Resolution 1289/2023 this Tuesday, allocated the frequency band between 3,600 and 3,7000 MHz to the Fixed Service and the Land Mobile Service, both with primary category to the Argentine Company of Satellite Solutions SA (ARSAT) for a term of 20 years.
According to the established schedule, companies interested in participating in the tender may submit the technical files until September 29.
With all the members of the board of directors present, only those designated by Parliament in representation of the second and third minority, Silvana Giudice and the santafesino Jose Corral, they voted against the bidding process for the implementation of the new technology.

“This platform will be of intensive use for industry, medicine, artificial intelligence, as well as for connectivity in homes,” explained Gustavo López, head of ENACOM. “Coverage and quality is for the whole country,” López added, referring to the fact that this technology can allow the simultaneous connection of a million devices against the thousand connected equipment that exists with the technology current.
“It will be the market that stipulates its real value through the bidding procedure that the licensees authorized to participate will carry out,” they indicated from Enacom. Likewise, the Entity’s board of directors resolved to assign 100 Mhz to the state company Arsat.
In a statement, the enacom specified that “both the auction and the fixing of the base value are aligned with other international experiences of spectrum tenders that have been successful for national States, and are even related to previous procedures established in the country for radioelectric spectrum awards”.
They recalled that “since the beginning of Enacom’s current management, headed by Claudio Ambrosini, work is being done to guarantee the right of access to Internet networks for all the inhabitants of the country”.

They also noted that “5G systems include new and better technical possibilities that allow a service with higher data transfer and download speeds, simultaneous connections and near real-time responsiveness, which, together, will create new opportunities for wireless access”
They stressed that “the productive sector will be greatly favored with this technological update, since it will be possible to connect the devices with each other without the need for human intervention, which will generate cost and time optimization”.
“The deployment of 5G In Argentina, it constitutes a medium and long-term State policy, which will require collaboration between the public and private sectors: companies must make investments to renew the network infrastructure; and governments, allow marketing at affordable prices and certainty for fair competition,” Enacom stressed.
