The union representatives and national officials met on Wednesday at a work table at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor, but went to an intermediate room until September.

The State Workers Association (ATE), the National Civilian Personnel Union (UPCN) and the Secretary of Management and Public Employment, Ana Castellani met on Wednesday at a work table at the Callao 114 headquarters of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security of the Nation to discuss a parity readjustment. This month state employees have the third pay increase of the June-August quarter.

Parities of ATE and UPCN

State employees had defined a quarterly increase of 33% since May, which was paid in three installments and the last one is received in September.

  • 7% in June
  • 11% in July
  • 12% in August (paid in September)

The parity of 33%, agreed in May, was rejected at the time by ATE.

Parity discussion for new increases

Within the framework of peer discussions and after the union representatives requested that the bonus not be absorbed, it was resolved to move to an intermediate room until a date to be defined in September.

During the negotiation, ATE informed that it was requested that correct the $60,000 bond proposal in two installments of the minister Sergio Massasince “it leaves out half of the state employees and since it is not permanent, it should not be absorbed by the parity”, the elimination of the salary cap of $400,000 for its collection was also requested.

“We have ratified the insufficiency of the announcements made by the Minister of Economy and demanded that the sum be transformed into an anti-inflationary reinforcement. It cannot be part of the parity”, expressed the general secretary-elect of ATE, Rodolfo Aguiar.

“Just as it is proposed, more than half will not charge it,” he added.

For these reasons, the parties settled a quarter intermission through the week of Monday, September 11.
