The union representatives of the Banking Association (AB)and the business chambers of the financial sector hold joint negotiations and from the union they ask that salaries “do not lose against inflation.” This Thursday, August 31, they were at the headquarters of the Ministry of Labor awaiting a response to the workers’ claims.

The union issued a statement in which it stressed that it raised “the need for the banking don’t lose to inflationin a quite atypical month from an economic point of view”, due to the devaluation 20% of the weight.


And they added that the Banking Association “continues to maintain the premise that workers should not be the economy’s adjustment variable, and should safeguard the purchasing power of our wages.”

The bank achieved a six-month increase of 66% in two parts. From January to May, they achieved 32.5%. The percentages were distributed: 6% in January, 7.1% in February, 11% in March and 8.4% in May.
But in the middle of that month negotiations were reopened and a 33.5% increase up to Julywhich settled 6% in April (the month in which no increase was stipulated), 5.6% in May (which was added to the 8.4% already agreed), 11.9% in June and 10% in July.

On the other hand, the Bank had also achieved an increase in the “connectivity expenses” item that was applied after the pandemic and was installed as a modality, regulated by the Telework Law. The increase was 15.58% and was paid as a “non-remunerative” concept, since it responds to expenses and is not affected by the Income Tax:
- 301 pesos per day worked.
- A minimum of 2,709 pesos, when they work more than 4 days and up to 9 days inclusive.
- 6,612 pesos for those who complete the entire month working remotely.
