The number of empty stores in CABA decreased in the fourth quarter

During the fourth two-month period of 2023, 199 stores were detected for sale, for rent or closed in the areas surveyed by the business entity.

On the other hand, with respect to the previous measurement, corresponding to May-June, a rise of 2.1% was detected in the number of stores.

When exclusively analyzing the premises offered for rent and sale, in the first case a decrease of 3.9% was verified in relation to the third two-month period of the year (May-June) and 46.7% with respect to the same period of 2022.

Meanwhile, in the premises for sale, an increase of 16.7% was observed compared to the previous two-month period and of 10.5% compared to July-August 2022.

According to the measurement of the Chamber, which included the main commercial arteries of Buenos Aires, a greater vacancy was detected in stores on Rivadavia, Corrientes and Santa Fe avenues.

Inactive stores in La Plata also decreased

On the other hand, in the city of La Plata, during July-August, a year-on-year drop of 56.3% was registered in the number of inactive stores -for sale, rent, closed or simply closed-, in the main commercial areas of the City of La Plata.

Based on the data analyzed by the CAC from a survey carried out by the Federation of Wholesalers and Suppliers of the State of the Province of Buenos Aires (Femape), in relation to the previous two-month period, May-June, there was a rise of 7.7% .

During the seventh and eighth months of 2023, a total of 28 stores without commercial activity were detected in the surveyed areas.
