September has a reputation among investors as being a particularly critical month for the stock market. Many darlings like Tesla have triple-digit year-to-date percentage gains and are vulnerable. At Apple and Nvidia, the first days of September were not very tempting due to poor news from China and speculation about doctored numbers at Nvidia. The Nasdaq technology exchange had to pause its rally and some expect at least a test of the August lows. Statistically, there are also exciting reasons against it.
