It was the fourth rate hike in a row. The key interest rate is therefore still below the inflation rate, which was 58.9 percent in August.

The Bank of England (BoE) expects inflation in Great Britain to fall further in the near future; it was recently at 6.2 percent. Therefore, the BoE paused interest rates today after 14 hikes in a row. The key interest rate was left at 5.25 percent.

After five increases, the Swiss central bank is also refraining from further tightening. The key interest rate remains at 1.75 percent, but the door is open for further increases.
