The Buenos Aires Government created a seal to recognize “socially committed” companies

The government of the province of Buenos Aires, through the Undersecretary of International and Institutional Relations, created the “Socially Committed Company” seal, which recognizes the social work of companies and SMEs.

“This new tool seeks to recognize the social work carried out by companies and SMEs; strengthen local communities through actions carried out by them; and encourage them to deepen them,” highlighted the Undersecretary of International and Institutional Relations, Mario Oporto.

In a statement it was indicated that this recognition occurs within the framework of the provincial network of business social policies, created by the Chief of Staff, whose objective is to institutionalize the link between the provincial State and the different companies in terms of social actions.

This tool aims to “contribute to improving the quality of life of Buenos Aires residents, generating and strengthening links between the private sector, civil society organizations and religions.”

In addition, it seeks to make visible the commitment of “socially committed” companies; and it is an endorsement that points out Social Responsibility/Sustainability to encourage companies to deepen the social tasks they carry out in their local communities.

The seal has already been awarded to three companies with social policies: Siemens Foundation, Pampa Energía Foundation and Unilever.

From the Undersecretariat they explained that in order to access the seal, companies must comply with certain guidelines such as accompanying the regularization of a civil society organization; improve a public space or sponsor an institution.

“For the Province, it is strategic to promote initiatives that promote economic, social, community, labor, academic and human development in each municipality,” highlighted the provincial director of Community Relations, Agustina Quiroga.

The official considered that “it is valuable to be able to count on the experience and knowledge of the companies and SMEs that have been working in their communities, being, in many cases, a key source of work and development for the citizens where they are located.”
