On Friday, the stock market barometer had slipped to the lowest points of the past few months, reaching 15,471 points. The MDax of medium-sized stocks fell by 0.19 percent to 26,486.12 points on Monday. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 stagnated.

“The prospects for the economy are anything but rosy, which means that the fantasy of increasing corporate profits is increasingly dwindling,” is how capital market strategist Jürgen Molnar from the Robomarkets trading company summarized the current events. Rising energy costs put a strain on the manufacturing industry, while rising interest rates put a strain on the real estate sector in particular, but inevitably also at some point on the financial sector.

At the top of the DAX, the shares of the real estate group Vonovia expanded their recent gains and rose by 1.4 percent. The federal government, the construction and housing industries are looking for ways to create more affordable housing in Germany on Monday. Increased interest rates and prices are currently making it difficult for those looking for accommodation. Many construction projects are being put on hold.

In the MDax, Hugo Boss shares bucked the negative trend somewhat and increased slightly.
