A purchase price was not mentioned today, Tuesday, in a statement from the law firm Cerha Hempel, which is supporting the takeover. At the beginning of this year, XXXLutz took over Conforama in Switzerland, and before that in France in 2020.
According to XXXLutz, antitrust approval is still pending for the planned takeover in Spain and Portugal. The furniture retailer wants to acquire 46 branches in Spain and 14 in Portugal. This means that XXXLutz would already be represented in 15 European countries.
The brand name and appearance in the Spanish and Portuguese locations should exist and be continued on site by our own management. XXXLutz recently had sales of around 5.3 billion euros with 25,700 employees.
