This article is a take on Capital+, Capital’s premium digital offering. For you as a stern PLUS subscriber, it is exclusively available here until October 4th, 2023. It will then be available to read again exclusively for Capital+ subscribers
Ms. zur Löwen, you are an influencer. How do you get rich with this?
I owe all my success to social media. I’ve been doing consistent work there for over ten years and have built a large following. The brands I work with, like Formula Skin and Lillet, pay me for this reach.
At the age of 14, you recorded your first videos on fashion topics in your children’s room and uploaded them to YouTube. What was the goal?
Actually, I just wanted to draw attention to myself so that I could be invited to big fashion fairs like Fashion Week. In the first few years I didn’t make any money from the videos because I didn’t tell my parents about them and didn’t have an account myself.
