It was an amicable separation, according to a statement from the company, which works in the field of plastic and foam solutions. Axel Kühner had been CEO of Greiner since 2010; the Karlsruhe native joined the global group based in Kremsmünster from Mercedes-Benz in 2009.
The owner family thanked Kühner for the work of the past few years: “After challenging years marked by the economic consequences of the corona pandemic, geopolitical tensions and macroeconomic upheavals, now is the right time to pave the way for a new start pave.” Together with Kühner, who is leaving his position at the end of the year, a successor is now being sought.
There have already been prominent departures from Greiner recently, the OÖNachrichten reported. Rainer Perneker, who had been at the helm of Greiner Bio-One for more than ten years, left the family business after more than three decades.
In August it was announced that the company was selling its low-profit automotive division to French competitor Treves.
