“Year of extremes”: Schwarzmüller confirms loss

The Innviertel company officially confirmed what the OÖN had discussed in March: the previous financial year ended with a negative result. How much is not disclosed. Reasons for the loss: high costs, supply chain problems, high old order backlogs, one-off effects. Sales rose by nine percent to 446 million euros.

After Beate Paletar became the sole owner, she took the reins more into her own hands again. Thomas Biringer has been working as restructuring manager since March. Capacities are being adjusted and processes are being streamlined. According to Schwarzmüller, the workforce supported the reduction in working hours. There are a few fewer employees, but the workforce is relatively stable at 2,150. A “return to profitability” is expected in 2023, according to an inquiry. In addition to Leoni boss Klaus Rinnerberger, ex-Wacker Neuson boss Martin Lehner has also joined the supervisory board.
