“No worker will pay profits again”the minister stated tonight on the social network #Salary is no earningbut it is payment for the work they do every day.
The minister remarked: “We removed by law the 4th category of the tax and from October, only those who earn more than 15 minimum vital and mobile salaries will pay it, today 1,770,000 pesos.”
Massa assured that “without a doubt, my presidency will be marked by the recovery of salaries and income.”
The presidential candidate and promoter of the bill to modify Profits remarked: “From now on, the elimination of Income Tax for workers is a reality.”
Earnings Modification
The Senate approved the law that modifies the Income Tax, raising the floor of the Non-Taxable Minimum to almost two million pesos, which is equivalent to fifteen minimum wages, vital and mobile and that will govern from 2024.
The initiative received support from officialdom and of Federal Unit blockwhich responds to provincialist spaces, and the rejection of Together for Changewhich, as in the debate in the lower house, considered it to be an “electoralist” measure.
The Earnings reform focuses on the modification of the fourth category, a universe currently made up of 80,000 workers. That is, the tax will change its nomenclature to Tax on “Higher earnings” and will be paid only by those who obtain monthly income higher than the new tax floor, which was set in $1,770,000.
