This Friday, through the Resolution 15/2023 published in the Official bulletinthe increase in the Minimum, Living and Mobile Wage was made official, a measure that comes in a challenging economic context.

In this way, the increase that was confirmed by the majority will have an increase in 32.2% and will be divided into three sections, From October to decemberso it will raise the floor that until September was $118,000.

The official text establishes that the increase will be like this:

  • Starting October 1, 2023, the SMVM will be $132,000 for monthly workers and $660 per hour for daily workers.
  • Starting November 1, 2023, the SMVM will be $146,000 for monthly workers and $730 per hour for daily workers.
  • Starting December 1, 2023, the SMVM will be $156,000 for monthly workers and $780 per hour for daily workers.

Furthermore, the text establishes that the Unemployment benefitwhich is a benefit received by workers who lose their jobs, will be equivalent at 75% of the best, normal and usual monthly remuneration of the worker in the six months prior to the termination of the employment contract. In no case will the monthly benefit may be less than 50% of the current SMVMnor higher than 100% of the current SMVM.

In this regard, the Minister of Labor, Raquel ‘Kelly’ Olmoscommented “The objective is to advance in salary adjustment and introduce an important change in unemployment insurance.
