In a context of high uncertainty, representatives of the country’s main firms will meet to debate central issues on the agenda such as the labor market, tax reform and public spending. Days before the presidential elections, none of the main candidates in the race confirmed their presence.

In fact, Milei and Sergio Massa have informed the organization in the last few hours that they will not participate in the event. A rudeness? In any case, businessmen and women who want to meet with the libertarian candidate will have to travel only 5.5 km, to the Sasso hotel. The establishment where his economic advisor and senatorial candidate Juan Nápoli is preparing a face-to-face meeting this Friday with about 50 businessmen, whose identity is still unknown, belongs to the gastronomic union. Yes, Luis Barrionuevo again, around Milei.
Ten minutes from there, an event full of debate panels will take place between today and Friday. On this occasion, the entity will present what it calls 20 “realistic” proposals for development. That term, as its organizers explain, means that they were agreed upon by the teams that discussed them, and that they take into account the context.
They also recognize that perhaps “it is not everything that companies would have wanted, but they are progress and are possible to achieve in the short term.” There will be suggestions on the labor issue: system of fines, hiring incentive scheme and modifications in the capitalization of interests in lawsuits, among others. Also in tax matters: simplification of the system to improve the competitiveness of companies, combating evasion and a new federal tax sharing law.
At the same time, they will announce a series of initiatives to reduce public spending in search of fiscal balance. Javier Goñi, director of IDEA and general manager of Ledesma, is one of those who worked on the proposal and detailed to Ámbito the three axes on which it focuses: “Reorder the pension system so that it is sustainable and equitable, rationalize subsidies to energy, focusing on electricity and gas, and reviewing the spending of public companies.”
Massa’s team informed Ámbito that the minister will not travel to Mar del Plata. Yes, President Alberto Fernández will do so, who in this way will complete his mandate with perfect attendance at the four Colloquiums. Deputy Minister Gabriel Rubinstein also appears on the program.
