What to do if a business does not accept a debit card

If a business does not have a posnet for debit card paymentthe client can make a complaint in simple steps before the AFIP. To do so, the following steps must be followed:

  1. Scan the QR code which appears on the “Form 960 – Fiscal Data” of the premises.
  2. Once scanned, the client will access the tax information of the premises to make the complaint.
  3. Enter the AFIP websiteon the complaints site and load the CUIT of the trade, or call 0800-999-3368.

Who is required to accept a debit card?

According to the AFIP, businesses have to accept debit cards, prepaid non-banking or other equivalent means through POS terminals in case of:

  • They sell goods for final consumption.
  • Provide mass consumption services.
  • Do works.
  • Rent furniture.

On the other hand, the local will be excepted when:

  • The amount of the operation is less than $100.
  • The activity is carried out in towns with a population of less than 1000 inhabitants.
