We are committed to working together with partner companies ANGEL active in building a circular economy in the plastics industry. This only works if data is exchanged along the value chain. For example, a digital, invisible watermark on packaging that contains data about the material, manufacturer and processing process enables pure, high-quality recycling. The expansion of recycling capacities is also supported by intelligent assistance systems that compensate for fluctuations in the material properties of recycled plastic waste, such as those from yellow bags. Thanks to software developed by ENGEL, the injection molding machine automatically adjusts critical parameters, resulting in products of consistently high quality.

The family business stands out in particular because it offers the entire range of digitalization from a single source – from the simple app, to assistance systems on the injection molding machines, to the comprehensive Manufacturing Execution System (MES). In order to further advance innovative solutions, ENGEL has built up core competencies in-house. Teams consisting of employees from a wide range of disciplines, from product managers to data scientists to chemists, work on the development of new technologies. Agile development methods are now used across the board and enable project teams to react quickly to new findings.
