The report assured that in the last year a migration accelerated in the universe of 170 million service payments and taxes that are carried out in the country, from face-to-face channels to banking applications and virtual wallets.
In this regard, it was specified that “an increase in payments through this channel was observed from 20% to 52% in the last 12 months”, and it was projected that “it will stand at 67% within a year.” .
Likewise, the report indicated that “32% of the payments that were made in the websites of banks are now done through cell phones, anticipating that by 2024 this migration will exceed 45 points.
For his part, Mariano Reisin, from the platform that produced the report, Pago Mis Cuentas, explained that “in recent years there has been a digital transformation that prompted people to migrate the payment of services and taxes to the mobile channel”.
“When we analyze the user behavior, We see that of the people who choose to pay their services with banking apps and virtual wallets, within this group, there is 16% who used web channels last year and today only use cell phones, while there are 10% of people who alternate between the web and the “mobile channel”explained the executive.

Digital payments: user characteristics
Meanwhile, regarding the age range of the main users, the report indicated that “those under 20 years of age are digital natives who make their payments exclusively through mobile channels and the items that pay the most are cell phone recharge and transportation, while people between “20 and 39 year olds prefer cell phones for their payments.”
However, he stressed that these people “for high amounts usually opt for the web channel,” and stated that “this is the group that makes the most payments for home services, municipal taxes and credit cards.”
On the other hand, “users between 40 and 59 years old combine the mobile and web channels and it is the segment with the greatest tendency to migrate their payments with cell phones.

By sector, those that registered the greatest growth in mobile channels In the last year they are cell phone charging and transportation with a growth of 56%, AFIP with 42% and electricity and the payment of Monotributo with 32%, and are followed by gas with 30%, schools and universities with 29% and provincial taxes with 26%.
