After the bumpy start due to anonymous threats, the third round of the Metaller-KV was quickly canceled on Friday afternoon. This emerged from a broadcast from employer representatives from the Association of the Metal Technology Industry (FMTI). In it, the FMTI blamed the PRO-GE and GPA unions for a “unilateral” demolition. A union representative confirmed the demolition in response to an APA request and announced a reaction in a broadcast.

The start of the third round of collective bargaining negotiations for the approximately 120,000 employees in the metal technology industry was unusual on Friday. The employers had reported a threatening letter that had since been sent to the police. The unions, in turn, immediately made it clear that they naturally reject such aggressiveness. Afterwards the conversations started, where there was still some distance between them – but apparently they came to a quick end.
