The Dutch company Nedcon, a subsidiary of the Linz-based steel and technology group voestalpine, has bought the Italian warehouse specialist Torri, based in Vicenza. This was announced via broadcast today. Torri has been producing shelving systems and storage platforms for various industrial applications for more than 50 years. The portfolio includes both manual and automatic storage systems. 135 employees recently achieved sales of around 75 million euros. “With the acquisition, we can consistently continue our strategy of offering complex storage systems from development to assembly from a single source. On the one hand, this means we can serve the southern European market even better, and on the other hand, our existing customers also benefit,” says Peter Schwab, board member the voestalpine and head of the Metal Forming Division, was quoted. Nothing was known about the purchase price.
Nedcon has been part of the voestalpine Metal Forming Division since 2004 and employs around 500 people at four branches. Nedcon storage systems are used in fully automated distribution centers of online retailers, shipping companies and supermarkets. A total of around 12,000 employees work in the division.
