The increase was greater in DNI accountsince it went from 5.2 million purchases in September to 6.3 million in October, a growth of 22% month-on-month.
For their part, debit card operations increased in the same period from 9.3 to 10.6 million, which represents 14% more.
With the Buy without VAT consumption increased
This increase in operations with electronic payment methods is linked to the launch of the Buy without VAT program, which came into effect on September 18.
This is a measure by the national government that reimburses 21% of purchases from a segment of the population according to their income level, in selected businesses and in particular products, for up to $18,800 per month as value added tax (VAT). .
“From the Buenos Aires public bank we sought to have the DNI Account quickly join the program because, combined with the promotions offered by the digital wallet, it allows people to save up to $80 thousand on the purchase of essential products,” Indian Juan Cuattromo, holder of the Bank province.
And he added: “The discount program offered by the DNI Account, promoted by the governor Axel Kicillof in July 2021, it is a public policy that goes in the same direction as the Purchase without VAT program: increasing the purchasing capacity of families for food and basic necessities.”
Banco Provincia has more than 7.5 million DNI Account users and 7.8 million active debit card holders.
