Traffic: Survey: Majority have never bought a Germany ticket

According to a survey, around two thirds of the population in Germany have never bought the Deutschlandticket.

66 percent of those surveyed said that they had not bought the discounted ticket in any of the past six months since the 49 euro ticket was launched on May 1st. This emerges from a representative survey published by the opinion research institute YouGov on Thursday.

According to this, seven percent of those surveyed have consistently bought a new card every month. Eight percent said that they received the Deutschlandticket anyway as a subscription or at a reduced price, for example as a job ticket, semester ticket or with a social tariff. 15 percent bought the Germany ticket in selected months.

Since May 1st, you can use the Deutschlandticket to travel on buses and trains in nationwide local transport for 49 euros per month – with a digitally bookable, monthly-cancellable subscription. YouGov asked 3,436 people aged 18 and over how often they had bought the ticket for their own use since then.
