In this context, in Ambit We carried out a survey of prices in neighborhood stores in the Almagro area, in a leading supermarket and based on official IPCVA data (Beef Promotion Institute).
The objective was to calculate how much an average barbecue for 4 people could cost.

In total, for a group of 4 people with the basics (strip roast, sausages, onion, tomato and lettuce salad, bread and charcoal), the total price of the roast is around $12,000 buying some products in neighborhood stores and others in supermarkets.
According to the price survey of September of the IPCVA, the strip roast in AMBA was located at $2,953.90, the vacuum at $3,448.7 and the chicken at $945.0. A small caveat with these prices is that they do not include the recent increase in meats, so the price may have been well below what is seen in the butcher shops currently.
Another caveat that was demonstrated is the great distortion that exists in prices, since there is a strong difference between neighborhood shops and supermarketssince the latter are subscribed to the program Fair Prices. In this way the gaps can even reach up to 200% in some beef cuts and, in the case of vegetables, up to 100%.
