The 2023 sugar campaign exceeds productive expectations and in 180 days of harvest the mills have already ground 14,714,521 tons of raw cane, some 362,182 tons more than last year, reported the government of Tucumán.

Four mills finished their campaigns, Cruz Alta, Concepción, La Florida and Ñuñorco, and there are still 10 industries in operation that have gradually returned to grinding after the rains recorded in the province in recent weeks.

According to the data provided by the mills to the Institute for the Promotion of Sugar and Alcohol of Tucumán (Ipaat), the amount of raw ground cane is 14,714,521 tons and exceeds the grinding compared to 2022, which was 14,352,339 tons.
Meanwhile, the amount of physical sugar that has been produced so far is 1,060,018 tons.
On the other hand, sugar-alcohol activity continues to advance with a production of 217,120,750 liters of alcohol, with eight distilling mills.
