In September of this year, the managing director and majority owner of SGT Elektrotechnik in Gallneukirchen, Thomas Hofer, suddenly died. Now the company has filed for bankruptcy. 57 creditors are affected, including twelve employees. The liabilities amount to around 770,000 euros.
“The managing director Mario Kaufmann, who only took office a year ago, was unable to guarantee the financing of the planned restructuring like his predecessor Hofer,” said the creditor protection association KSV1870. The sudden death of Hofer is therefore cited in the debtor’s insolvency application as the main cause of the insolvency.
A continuation of the company – as well as a restructuring – are no longer planned. “It can be assumed that it will be closed and utilized in the best possible way by the insolvency administrator, who will still be appointed by the insolvency court at the time of opening,” said KSV1870.
