As part of a capital increase, Öbag could receive a stake of at least 25 percent plus one share. Negotiations in this regard are ongoing. The AT&S board also wants to talk to other investors about possible entry. Vienna/Leoben. “To support further corporate development,” the company is planning a large capital increase and further capital measures. The total volume could be up to 50 percent of the current share capital, but details are still open.

Whether the capital measures can be carried out and whether or which investors get involved still depends on “any necessary committee resolutions to reach an agreement with the potential investor and the evaluation of the then prevailing market conditions”. Approval from the AT&S supervisory board is also still pending.

The discussions were confirmed by Öbag, but they are still at an early stage, an Öbag spokesman told the APA. As part of the state holding company’s new business strategy, Öbag can, at the request of companies, invest in Austrian companies that are active in future technologies.

If Öbag took over 25 percent plus one share in AT&S, it would be the largest individual shareholder in the circuit board manufacturer. Currently, 64 percent of AT&S is in free float, and the foundations run by the industrialists Hannes Androsch and Willibald Dörflinger also hold 18 percent each.

The news was not initially well received by shareholders. AT&S shares collapsed by 15.3 percent to 23.96 euros in early trading on Tuesday.
