The collective bargaining negotiations in the metal technology industry will continue on Monday from 1:30 p.m. This was confirmed to the OÖN by trade union circles.

Because the union negotiators for the metal industry such as mechanics and plumbers also negotiate wage increases in the morning, this date will be shortened. The seventh round of the collective bargaining negotiations in the metal technology industry (FMTI) will take place from 1.30 p.m. Years ago, employers wanted to let the trade associations negotiate individually, but the FMTI, with 120,000 employees, is the largest trade association and has always set the conclusion for the other metal trade associations – from foundries to the vehicle industry.

Today, Thursday, is still a big strike day – in Upper Austria, workers from Engel marched through Schwertberg in the morning after a works meeting. There are also work stoppages at voestalpine.

The unions continue to demand a wage increase of 11.6 percent, and employers have recently introduced socially staggered wage and salary increases of an average of 6 percent (2.7 percent plus a monthly fixed amount of 130 euros as a sustainable wage or salary increase) as well as a tax-exempt one-off payment of 1,200 euros net. The bakers recently achieved a deal. Their KV minimum wages rise by 9.71 percent and are therefore in line with the increase in pensions.
