The storage is full and the switch to many different providers has taken place. So there’s no reason to worry in winter, says the network agency – but still gives some advice.
The President of the Federal Network Agency, Klaus Müller, is optimistic about German gas supplies in the coming winter months. Due to a “diversified gas inflow, full storage and (…) economical consumption” there are only a few remaining risks, said Müller on Friday in the ZDF morning magazine. An “extremely cold winter” is the only thing that could shake up the gas supply. However, in his opinion, that is unlikely.
The Gaza war is also not a major risk factor. “There are gas fields off the Israeli-Palestinian coast, but the quantity and supply chains are nothing that currently worries us,” explained Müller. However, it is still important to use gas sparingly, even if the price of gas has fallen by almost 15 percent, “just to protect your own wallet.”
