Frankfurt Stock Exchange: Dax is aiming for 16,000 points

The Dax gained momentum at the end of a strong week. The leading German index rose by 0.87 percent to 15,924.24 points by early Friday afternoon. The MDax of medium-sized companies gained 1.5 percent to 26,358.18 points. The Eurozone index EuroStoxx 50 rose by 0.86 percent.

“The delayed autumn rally is now really getting going,” wrote market analyst Christian Henke from Handelshaus IG. The continued improvement in optimism and the easing interest rate fears played into the hands of investors.

On a weekly basis, the Dax is expected to gain 4.5 percent. Milder inflation data from the USA in particular recently provided a boost.

At the top of the DAX, the recovery rally in shares of the ailing energy technology group Siemens Energy continued with an increase of 6.5 percent. They continued to benefit from the latest breakthrough in the struggle for financial guarantees from the federal government.

Bucking the trend, Infineon shares fell slightly. Negative news for the semiconductor sector as a whole came from the USA, among others. According to a media report, there are supposed to be investigations against the chip company Applied Materials because of an alleged violation of export restrictions to China.

The euro cost $1.0875 in the afternoon. The European Central Bank set the reference rate on Thursday at $1.0849. On the German bond market, the current yield fell from 2.64 percent the day before to 2.54 percent. The Rex bond index rose by 0.36 percent to 124.55 points. The Bund future rose by 0.13 percent to 131.24 points.
