During the weekend a rumor circulated that Amazon would be arriving in Argentina after Javier Milei assume the presidency of the country on December 10. This rumor that excited social media was finally denied by the company itself.

“We do not have operational updates about our presence in Argentina,” said David Flores-Sánchez, Amazon spokesperson in La Nación. At least, in the short term, plans do not seem to have changed.

The same rumor also circulated about Starlink, one of Elon Musk’s parent companies, which was also replicated by Diana Mondino, the future chancellor. In that case, Starlink had already been approved by the National Communications Entity (Enacom), from 2021, permits to operate.
