Even with artificial intelligence, things are sometimes very human, as the dispute over the company OpenAI shows. Sam Altman is fired, but returns – and with him the dangers inherent in the technology.

The dark blue jacket fits loosely, the gaze is forward. Sam Altman, just 38 years old, has come to the congress stage in San Francisco and wants to talk about the future – and in it there will be machines that are smarter than any human brain. Who would know this better than he, the frontman and head of OpenAI, the most famous of all those companies that work with artificial intelligence. So, Sam, what do you see? He talks about technological leaps that are coming soon, new opportunities and risks. But he is not a seer – at least this Thursday he apparently has no idea that he will be fired just one day later.
