The owner of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA), Daniel Funes from Riojaconsidered that the economy is in “a serious inflationary process” and that “without economic stabilization nothing can grow.”
He was consulted at a press conference only about the future of companies: “There are 14,500 companies and do you think they produce so as not to sell? They will look for paths. The processes are not looked at in 15 days, we come from strong and generalized price control.”
And he assured: “With respect to the exchange rate, we have to wait for the official measures. The industry awaits clear announcements and signals. The president-elect is giving clear signals of where he wants to go. If we do not have macroeconomic stabilization, nothing can grow in Argentina more than inflation.”
Regarding the presence of Javier Milei at the conference, he explained: “The elected government has been in permanent contact and what we want is for him to come. The first time it was offered to come, it had not been the PASO, we have been very neat.”
On the other hand, regarding labor modification he expressed: “Labor modernization is written in the white paper. We want to adapt to new work realities. We have a labor law from the ’70s that does not respond to current reality. There are other sectors that have it like this.”
Funes de Rioja spoke upon arriving at the 29th Annual Conference of the UIA, where today the presence of the president-elect Javier Milei is expected, who has not yet reconfirmed his participation.
