The Government established an increase of up to 19% in bioethanol prices made from sugar cane and corn, which is used for mandatory mixing with gasoline.

These prices are minimum values to which marketing operations in the domestic market must be carried out, the Executive Branch clarified. The previous adjustment had been applied on November 10, also from a Energy Resolution.

“Given the current macroeconomic context, it is necessary address the incident that has the modification of the relative prices in the cost structure of bioethanol made from corn, in such a way that the resulting prices of those adjust to the aforementioned scenario,” justified that Secretariat.

Since September 2021, bioethanol prices are updated monthly by the Ministry of Energy, always in accordance with the percentage variation in the price at the pump of the gasoline marketed by YPF.

Meanwhile, in May of this year, that body approved the procedures for determining prices within the framework of the provisions of Law No. 27,640 (on the regulatory framework for biofuels), a methodology that came into force this month.
