ENACOM reinforces the Internet program in towns and settlements

Through the Resolution 2089/2023 of the National Communications Entity (ENACOM), published this Thursday in the Official Gazette, a new budget was approved for the infrastructure development program for Internet in towns and settlements enrolled in the National Registry of Popular Neighborhoods in the Process of Urban Integration (RENABAP).

The program was created by Decree No. 358/2017 and aims to guarantee access to Internet to the inhabitants of these neighborhoodswho are often in conditions of economic and social vulnerability.

The original budget of the program was 1,000 million pesosbut it has been increasing as they have been executed the projects and have been assumed new commitments.

The resolution approved by the National Communications Entity (ENACOM) allocates an additional 20,000 million pesos to the program. This amount will be used to finance the installation, development and improvement of infrastructure networks for the provision of fixed broadband internet access service in the neighborhoods registered in RENABAP.

The resolution establishes that the additional amount may be affect once previously allocated resources have been exhausted.

What is ENACOM?
