Buy without VAT from AFIP is a refund program for purchases made in stores with Debit which was launched on September 18. He discount is 21% and the VAT refund is capped at $18,800 monthly per person.
It is especially designed for purchases with Debit in the food basket, medicines, personal hygiene and home cleaning.
Who can collect the VAT refund
The groups that can access the Buy without VAT program are:
- People who received the $94,000 bonus for IFE or Reinforcement for informal workers from Anses.
- Holders of the Food Card of the Ministry of Social Development, compatible with the AUH, Pregnancy Allowance (AUE) and Non-Contributory Pensions (PNC).
- Retirees and pensioners who do not exceed 6 minimum salaries.
- Workers in a dependency relationship with income that does not exceed 6 minimum wages.
- Monotributistas.
- Workers in private homes (domestic employees).

Until when is the VAT refund?
Buy without VAT It is valid until December 31, so workers, monotributistas, AUH holders, pensioners and IFE will be able to access until the end of the year. After the assumption of Javier Milei, it is expected that more details will be provided next week about the continuity of the program.
However, the decision to continue with the VAT refund will not depend on Milei, since the program bill has already been approved by the Chamber of Deputies and obtained a majority opinion from the Senate Budget and Finance Commission. Step by step to find out if you get a VAT refund
1- Enter Official site of the AFIP, https://www.afip.gob.ar/, go to the section “Most consulted“, and click “Microsites“.
2- Within “Microsites”, go to the “Listings“, Click on “Taxes” and choose “Buy without VAT”.
3- On the “Buy Without VAT” site, choose between “Query by Person” either “Consultation by Commerce“, as appropriate.
4- Enter the CUIL/CUIT and the Verification codeand press “Consult“.
5- The application will inform the person is or is not a beneficiary of the “Buy Without VAT” program.
