FAS issued a warning to Surgutneftegaz for abuse in the market

Surgutneftegaz received a warning from the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) about abuse of its dominant position in the wholesale gasoline market. The FAS announced the issuance of a warning on December 3.

The warning states that Surgutneftegaz is evading contracts for the supply of petroleum products with buyers who are not part of the company’s structure.

Now “Surgutneftegaz” within 10 days must submit to the FAS proposals on the conclusion of contracts with the largest Russian oil companies. The conclusion of contracts must take place within 60 days after receiving the warning.

“When concluding contracts for the supply of motor gasoline, not to allow a decrease in the volumes sold at exchange auctions, including the implementation in the mode of concluding contracts on the basis of targeted bids at a fixed price, while ensuring the priority of gasoline supplies to the domestic market in relation to supplies under export contracts,” in the message of the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

Earlier, on November 29, the Khakassian OFAS Russia issued a warning to Komandor Trading Network LLC (Khoroshiy store) about the need to stop unreasonable overstatement of retail prices for socially significant food products in the city of Sorsk, where the organization holds a share of more than 35%.

On November 22, the Russian government approved the procedure for state control over price premiums for vital and essential medicines (VED). According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the FAS will conduct scheduled inspections no more than once every two years according to the approved plan, but unscheduled ones are also possible.
