In the Eurozone, prices fell again in November. The statistical office Eurostat reports this after a second estimate.
Inflation in the euro zone weakened significantly in November. Consumer prices were 2.4 percent higher than a year earlier, as the Eurostat statistics office announced on Tuesday in Luxembourg after a second estimate. Preliminary data from the end of November has been confirmed.
In October, inflation was 2.9 percent, and a year ago it was as high as 10.1 percent. In a month-on-month comparison, prices fell by 0.6 percent in November – slightly more than previously known.
There are still very different inflation rates in the currency area. They range from minus 0.8 percent in Belgium to 6.9 percent in Slovakia. In Germany, inflation calculated according to European standards is 2.3 percent. According to national calculations it is 3.2 percent.
