This increase in sales during October occurred in a month in which inflation was 8.3%, after two consecutive months with increases of more than 12%, and in which bonuses and salary bonuses were delivered.to encourage consumption in a month in which the first electoral round took place.
In that framework, Sales in supermarkets were 5.8% above those of September, in wholesalers they advanced 5.7%, and in shopping malls, 30.1%.
This strong growth in sales made the accumulated between January and October will show increases of 2.2% in supermarkets, 6.6% in wholesalers and 14.3% in large shopping centers.
Total sales at current prices, for October Supermarkets totaled $708,652.7 million, which represents an increase of 166.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.
By category, the sales in “Clothing, footwear and home textiles”, with a 181.9% internal increase; “Beverages”, 180.6%; “Electronics and household items”, 171.5% and “Bakery”, 169.3%.
In large purchasing centers, sales at current prices in October amounted to $227,259.7 million, which represented an increase of 195.5%.
The items that stood out the most were: “Electronics, household appliances and computing”, 262.3%; “Furniture, decoration and home textiles”, 251.1%; “Sports clothing and accessories”, 222.7%; and “Bookstore and stationery store”, 193.2%.
