The objective of these holidays is to promote domestic tourism, distributing vacations over time and reducing the negative effects of the seasonality of the tourism sector.

This Friday, December 29, the last business day of the year, the Government defined the holidays for tourism purposes for 2024. It should be noted that there are three long holidays per year and they were on the calendar as follows.

According to him Decree 106/2023 empowers the National Executive Branch to annually establish up to three holidays or non-working days intended to promote tourist activity.


In this way, the official text establishes that the holidays for tourist purposes for the year 2024 will be the following:
- April 1st
- June 21
- October 11th
These days will be non-working days for the national public administration, but not for private companies. However, private companies can choose to give their workers the day off.
