With the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology, it was agreed to jointly invest more than $ 500 million for the adaptation of buildings, provision of services and the purchase of equipment for the future plant, the objective of which is to disaggregate the technological package and generate the knowledge that allows the development of the entire industrial process.
In accordance with the provisions of the signed agreement, the MINCyT will make a contribution to Y-TEC, which will allow progress with the project called “Development of new technologies for lithium extraction, synthesis of lithium compounds with higher added value and construction of a lithium cell and battery scaling plant.”

In turn, Y-TEC also signed a memorandum of understanding with the National University of La Plata for the start-up of all the operating instruments of the plant, which include the transfer of facilities, execution of general adaptation works and power lines; as well as the purchase of equipment, raw materials and training of human resources, among others.
The work of the plant will be focused on disaggregating the technological package regarding the design and manufacture of cells and batteries, with a view to the definitive incorporation of the technology and the generation of favorable conditions for the development of future similar larger plants. .
In addition, it will seek to promote the industrial development of lithium cells and batteries to meet specific demands of the State and the productive sector; the training of qualified human resources on the subject; and the production of knowledge.
