In addition, imports of goods also showed a decrease between periods, registering a drop of US$2,627 million. The deficit in the balance of services in the third quarter of 2023 was estimated at US$1,743 million.
Although the balance of this exchange continues to be negative, an improvement in US$322 million compared to that observed a year ago, as a consequence of the growth in exports of services, while imports of the same item decreased slightly.
The deficit in the primary income account reached US$3,447 millionwhich represented a deterioration of US$420 million compared to that registered a year ago. This was mainly driven by the estimated negative balance for investment income, which amounted to US$3,427 million.
Secondary income remained positive, estimated at US$461 million, US$20 million more than that registered in the same quarter of 2022.
Indec considered that the balance of the capital account amounted to US$35 million and, that as a consequence of this, the financing needs of the third quarter of 2023 for the Argentine economy amounted to US$6,067 million.
