Domestic employees who provide monthly settlement services will be paid in January 2024 his salary with an increase of 10%. The increase was defined in the last review of the National Commission for Work in Private Homes (CNTCP) in October and was 32%, allowing an increase of 10% for all categories to be absorbed next year.

Hourly salary of domestic employees in January 2024

As indicated in resolution 6 of the Official Gazette, published on October 6, people who perform general tasks in private homes and are hired by the hour or by the day are entitled to the following amounts:

  • Per hour with withdrawal: $1,416.50
  • Per hour without withdrawal: $1528

How domestic service vacations are calculated

The domestic service workerswhich includes the categories of supervisors, personnel with specific tasks, housekeepers, babysitters and adult caregivers, and general tasks personnel, have a scheme of rest days according to the time worked.

Between November 1st and March 30th of each year, the employee has the right to take vacation. The number of days will depend on seniority and the following rule is considered:

  • Less than 6 months: 1 day of rest for every 20 days worked.
  • From 6 months to 5 years: 14 days.
  • From 5 to 10 years: 21 days.
  • From 10 to 20 years: 28 days.
  • More than 20 years: 35 days.

In the event that the incorporation to work has been recent, there is a proportional rest day schemeaccording to the hours worked.

  • Between 4 and 7 weeks of work: 1 day of vacation
  • Between 8 and 11 weeks: 2 days of vacation
  • Between 12 and 15 weeks: 3 days of vacation
  • Between 16 and 19 weeks: 4 days of vacation
  • More than 20 weeks: 5 days of vacation
