The end of the “Buy Without VAT” program has arrived, which refunded consumers the 21% corresponding to the Value Added Tax (VAT) about purchases of the basic basket.

What products had the VAT refund

The maximum return limit was established at $18,800 and the corresponding refund was credited automatically in the bank account associated with the card used for the purchase, within a period of up to 48 hours after the transaction.

The Basic Food Basket of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) for an adult includes:

How do I make a claim for a VAT refund?

People who did not receive the VAT refund 48 hours after the purchase can begin the claim process with the AFIP in a manner virtual on the official website. The collecting agency will ask you personal informationand taxpayers will have room to expand on the claim details.
