He National Gas Regulatory Entity (Enargas) closed the list of exhibitors interested in participating in the virtual public hearing that will take place next Monday, January 8in which the proposals of the distributors and transporters will be heard in order to update, on a monthly basis, the service rates throughout the country.

The deadline for registration of those interested in presenting at public hearing 104 expired yesterday at midnight and now The organization is in the evaluation process, taking into account that only one speaker per legal entity will be admitted. (borrowing company, chamber, municipality or consumer association, among others).


The call for the hearing was formalized through resolution 704 of December 14, 2023 and it was published the next day in a special supplement of the Official Gazette, in line with the Government’s decision to reduce subsidies for energy services and determine a tariff update scheme.
The hearing will begin at 9 a.m. virtually, it will not be binding and it will address seven points specified in article 1 of the resolution.
- The temporary adjustment of the rates of the public natural gas transportation service;
- The temporary adjustment of the rates of the public gas distribution service through networks;
- The transfer to rates of the price of gas purchased under the terms of the Basic Rules of the Distribution License
- The determination of a monthly update index for the rates of the public natural gas transportation service and the public gas distribution network service.
- The treatment of the incidence of the cost of freight and/or transportation of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will also be considered with respect to localities supplied with propane/butane gas indiluted by networks;
- The treatment of the incidence of the price of gas on the cost of unaccounted for natural gas (NGNC) and, therefore,
- The reversal of the Northern Gasduct.
The highlight of the agenda was the inclusion of the point that establishes that rate adjustments will be made on a monthly basis.
In this regard, the companies that provide distribution services (Gasnor, Litoral Gas, Camuzzi Gas Pampeana, Camuzzi Gas del Sur, Distribuidora de Gas Cuyana, Distribuidora de Gas del Centro, Metrogas, Naturgy BAN and GasNEA), subdistribution (Redengas) and transportation (TGN and TGS) have already presented their proposals for tariff adjustments, which can be consulted in the “Consultation material” section of the Enargas website.
The decision seeks to attack one of the sources that explained the public deficit in recent years, whose impact on the Treasury accounts during the Alberto Fernández government was attempted to be mitigated with the implementation of segmentation according to the income level of the users. .
