However, he clarified, “we have a great commitment from Cofeci in the idea of affirming a basket of broad consumer care prices of gondola products, with the incorporation of regional production and recognizing the differences of each territory.”
Officials from the provinces celebrated the implementation of the program, highlighted its good operation in the large chains and pointed out that it is being met with the established prices, although they recognized complications with the scope in retail stores.
Feletti announced that the second stage, which will begin in 2022, will seek to deepen the federal imprint of the program, incorporating regional productions; reduce the longest distribution chains to achieve supply at the regional level; and establish differential margins according to the size of the businesses.
In this sense, the Secretary maintained that “the greatest obstacle to compliance with the program is the extension of the commercialization chain; the fundamental non-compliance occurs in the distributors.”
Feletti pointed out that the success of the program was to establish the importance of a wide consumer basket accessible to all; and he stressed that it fulfilled the objective of setting reference prices and cushioning the inflationary acceleration in gondola products.
In closing, he asked the secretaries of the provinces not to lower monitoring or dialogue with the sectors, “because we must ensure happy Holidays for all the Argentine people.”
The exchange with the body that brings together all the provincial secretaries and secretaries of the area takes place within the meetings to evaluate compliance with the price policy at the federal level, comment on the updates and learn about the different experiences on the implementation of the program in each territory.
