Frankfurt Stock Exchange: Dax shakes off inflation concerns

The price recovery in the second half of trading on Wall Street gave the German stock market a boost again on Friday. The Dax shook off the negative surprise from US inflation data the day before and rose 0.92 percent to 16,698.80 points in early trading. The MDax for medium-sized stocks rose by 1.34 percent to 26,418.78 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 rose by 0.8 percent.

Analysts at ING Bank stated that there was no change in interest rate expectations after US inflation was slightly higher than expected. After the European trading close on Thursday, the US leading index Dow Jones Industrial rose again and had completely made up for initial losses – good prospects for the German stock market.
