As a consequence of the criminal investigation and intelligence tasks of the Ministry of National Securitythe Argentine National Gendarmerie arrested in the province of Missions to a man who was transporting more than 2,800 kilos of marijuana.
The procedure was carried out this morning by personnel from the Group “Santo Pipó” dependent on Squadron 11 “San Ignacio” of National Gendarmerie who installed a checkpoint on the Provincial Route No. 103at the height of the La Cruz Theme Park.
The gendarmes took a position of the place based on previous investigation tasks as they expected possible illegal movements in the zone. In that context, they stopped a truck with a semi-trailer occupied by an adult man. When requesting the vehicle’s documents, the uniformed officers questioned the driver regarding the load he was transporting, who, highly strungcould not provide clear answers.
Next, the gendarmes inspected the trailer, finding 115 packages that emanated a strong smell of marijuanaso they made contact with him Federal Court and the Posadas Federal Prosecutor’s Officewhich directed that a more exhaustive search.
In the presence of witnesses, the officials proceeded to open the packages and discovered the existence of 4,146 rectangular and amorphous packages that contained a plant substance.
Field tests Narcotest gave positive results for “cannabis sativa”with a total weight of 2,887 kilos 412 grams.
